But I was very touched by what you said. Yes, many of us have these kinds of feelings, I think, and a lot of it can be related to feelings of low self-esteem - that there is something wrong with us. I'm glad your faith has helped you. In my case it's meditation, therapy, and now an effort to develop a kind of attitude of self-compassion. It's turning into quite an adventure in a way, and like you I feel I've started to make progress and become a friend to myself. It's changing a lifetime of negative thinking, but I feel I'm on my way.

This past week I've even been in communication with the American woman! It's no threat to my present relationship as she's thousands of miles away and we both have new lives, but it is helping to lay things to rest. I want to get on with my life now, and not brood over things in the past that I can't change.

I'm glad if my blog helped you in some way, Margaret. I hope all's well with you, and I think I'll take a look at your own blog now!

All best wishes

MichaelMichaelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16204564862931095574noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6298019694665414457.post-11295672122462822172010-09-25T11:49:34.664+01:002010-09-25T11:49:34.664+01:00Hi Michael. I thought only i felt that way through school and into life. I really appreciate your taking the time and courage to write it down. Im in my fiftees now, but have found a peace with myself, and with the others around me. We all secretly feel this way i have realised. Its how we let it change us that makes the difference. You have used that experience as a guide to those on the same journey. I have used it to be the kind of person i wish i had met on the way! My faith has changed how i feel about me, and my value, but as human i now know that i matter because of who i am not because of how others see me. You are a very special person, and the world is a better place because of you. When you look behind you as you walk you will see that your footprints have created a path for others to walk in. Thank you, MargaretAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05134702994734622143noreply@blogger.com
